What’s Vitamin C Serum Got to Do With It?
Having a healthy body and mind is extremely important, and for many people, if you feel good, you look good, and if you look good, you feel good. Whether it’s proper diet and exercise or remedy beauty and health treatments, the desire to have a healthy appearance is more popular than ever. With negative influences such as the weather, humidity, blow-drying, color-treatments, perms, and the use of hair appliances, it’s more and more difficult to maintain a naturally healthy mane. Dyes, straighteners, curlers, heated blow-dryers and chemicals are all terrible for hair, yet many people still use them daily. If you are one of these people and are interested in retaining a bit of vitality and shine back to your hair, or if you are just interested in a beauty remedy for revitalized looking hair, here are some quick and easy at-home hair treatments made with commonplace ingredients found in the average house.
Mask No. 1 – Banana Hair Mask
For those with thinner and weaker hair, whether naturally or cause by over-dye or overheating, this mask is a great option. Because bananas contain potassium, the hair is strengthened from previous damage without being weighed down exponentially. It is a rather simple mixture to make, without two ingredients. This mask can be made with 1 ripened banana, and one tablespoon of honey. Adding more of either ingredient to make a larger mask is also recommended. Blend the ingredients together until a smooth liquid form is created, then apply to hair and wait 15-30 minutes before rinsing and conditioning.
Mask No. 2 –Egg Hair Mask
Egg seems like a rather interesting ingredient to use on hair, however eggs contain protein, fatty acids, potassium and vitamin A, which nourish the hair roots, provide natural shine, aid in hair growth, heal dry, damaged hair, and prevent hair loss. To make this egg mask, combine ingredients as so: whisk one egg and one cup of milk, half of a lemon, and two table-spoons of olive oil in a bowl. Apply to hair and keep on until dry (30 minutes to 60 minutes), then rinse and condition as normal.
Mask No. 3 – Coconut Oil Hair Mask
Coconut is a popular hair moisturizer among many people. It’s sweet scent and lightweight texture make it an enjoyable mask to use. This mask is simple to make and use, with only two ingredients to mix as follows. Mix two-parts Coconut oil and one-part Olive Oil in a small bowl and mix well until creamy smooth consistency. Apply mixture to hair, starting at ends. Wrap hair in a bun under a shower cap and leave on hair for 30 minutes or more, dependent upon the hair’s level of damage. Rinse out thoroughly and condition as usual. Whether you use hyaluronic acid, phytoceramides, or vitamin c serum, taking care of your hair “tops” them all, and gives a glow to your whole appearance.
